Erzgebirgs-Skimarathon 2012 on Masters World Cup Tracks

The 8th Erzgebirgs-Skimarathon on January 14 and 15, 2012 will take place on the original tracks of the Masters World Cup in Oberwiesenthal. Starting and finishing area are in the Sparkassen-Skiarena on Fichtelberg. The freestyle competitions (10 km respectively 20 km) on Saturday, January 14, will be organized on the 10 km loop of the Masters World Cup, while the classical races (30 km respectively 45 km) on Sunday, January 15, on the 15 km loop. In addition also children can race on Sunday on a 2,5 km loop.
Until 2004 the Erzgebirgs-Skimarathon was wellknown under the name "Dr. Jaeger Volksskilanglauf" and last year 229 skiers participated in the freestyle and 460 in the classical races. Certainly many masters will use their chance to ski on the tracks dedicated for the the Masters World Cup already earlier. The Erzgebirgs-Skimarathon counts among the DSV-Langlaufserie.
