All participants at Masters World Cup 2012 in Oberwiesenthal will receive together with their bibs a questionnaire in their national language issued by The World Masters Cross-Country Ski Association. The skiers are kindly requested to complete the questionnaire and hand it over either to their National Director or drop it off at the info point in the event arena. The opinions of all racers should help to improve future Masters World Cups. The more skiers are taking part in this poll, the better and more meaningful result can be achieved. Already today WMA says thank you to everybody taking part in the poll.

1114 masters skiers from 26 nations have registered for Masters World Cup in Oberwiesenthal taking place between March 1-9, 2012. As expected host nation Germany with 300 athletes is leading in the list of participants followed by Russia with 195 skiers and France with 63.

The Canadian Masters National Championships will be organized in Golden, British Columbia, between March 12 and 17, 2012.

There is one more year to go until final start of Masters World Cup 2013 being organized in Asiago/Italy between February 14-23, but preparation work has already started long time ago.

Masters World Cup 2012 in Kurort Oberwiesenthal comes closer. First competition day will be Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Sparkassen-Skiarena. Registrations from skiers from all over the world for the biggest wintersport event every organized in Erzgebirge are arriving daily.

In the meantime about 50 % of all National  Directors have registered their athletes in full or partly. As per today 618 cross-country skiers from 14 nations are inscripted.

The WSC Erzgebirge Oberwiesenthal is indicating that final deadline for registration is the 5th of February. Registration form please find under http://www.wsc-erzgebirge.de/index.php?id=11936 as well as further details about the event. 

The Organizing Committee of WSC Erzgebirge is very happy tp receive about each new registration coming in. Besides the competitions the athletes can expect a very interesting entertainment program.

Sightseeing trips in the surrounding area and to Dresden are being offered. In the Tennis Centre all visitors, guests and skiers are coming together and enjoy entertainment program, food centre and different stalls.  

The 1000th participant registered will receive a valuable gift during opening ceremony.

As per the statement of the chairman of WSC Erzgebirge, Klaus-Peter Weingard, the final rehearsal on the occasion of the 8th Erzgebirgs-Skimarathon for Masters World Cup from March 1-9, 2012 was successful. The 658 racers in two competition days could convince themselves about abilities.

Not all participants at the Masters World Cup 2012 may win medals, but through revealing the medal design the OC wants to increase the desire of the participants for winning them. The athletes are able to win medals in 3 individual competitions in classical and freestyle plus the relays.
